Hi Y'all,
Hope you all had a great thanksgiving.  We are meeting on December 14th this month.  Unless anyone wants to volunteer to do the demo (or already has and I forgot)I was thinking about snowflakes 3 ways as a theme.  Simple, seasonal and could be used for earrings, pendants and decorations.  Also a good excuse to use glitter!;)).  Let me know is you are attending.
Thanks,
Maggie

Hi Everyone,

Our next Meeting is fast approaching and I thought we'd have fun making some petite food. This book has some great ideas and has the basics  and great tips to get started. With the tutorials on youtube and Pinterest,  I've been having a blast looking at all of the sites with miniature food.
Here is the Supply List
Basic PC kit
Conditioned Polymer Clay:   one pack:  burnt umber, ecru, cadmium red, white, then  1/4 pack cadmium yellow, translucent, pearl, and green
 needle tool
stippling tool,
safety pin or straight pin,
 a toothpick
double-ball stylus
tissue blade, razor blade, utility knife
small round paintbrushes
soft pastels chalk
Liquid Polymer Clay
And last but not least head pins. So we can make our finished products into earrings or items we can place on a bracelet.
Half of our members will be at the Kathleen Dustin Class with the Blue Ridge Polymer Clay guild, hope they learn a lot and have fun, we'll miss them.

August 24th Meeting

Hello everyone,
It's time for our next August meeting next Saturday. And I was wondering if anyone wanted to do the Demo for the group? I've injured my neck and have been having some right shoulder and arm pain was hoping someone would volunteer. Please give me a call or e-mail me if you'd like to do the Demo and please send the supply list and I'll post for the group. If there is not a Demo then we'll just do some claying around. So bring your current project to work on.  Maggie said to tell all Hello since she has another obligation and will not be able to join us.
Have a great week see ya next Saturday.

Cheryl

P.S Congrats to our very own Julie Eakes, for her wonderful DefLt artwork shown on Polymer Clay Daily this week!

Hi all,
Please note we have a change from our usual meeting place.
We will be meeting a The Andre Christine Gallery in Mooresville.    Linda has graciously arranged for us to use their classroom space.  It looks like a great place to explore and shop too. She is also going to demo earring and necklace assembly.  Please bring any polymer clay beads or other beads you would like to make into jewelry.  Also any findings and tools you would like.  We will have some to share if you don't have any. Sorry but our picnic has been cancelled so you will need to make your own lunch arrangements.  I will post the address and any more details soon.  Hope to see you all there.

Saturday's Demo

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to add some info. about the demo we are working on this Saturday.  Please  if you are using the reformulated Premo, please condition and leach the clay if it is to sticky. This bracelet cuff uses the Donna Kato "replacement technique" and if the clay is too sticky the shapes will to sticky and become distorted. Believe me, I know, re-working Demo step outs now and leaching my clay for the Demo, too sticky.
It is recommended to use Kato or Fimo that has already been conditioned and not sticky.
Oh,an addition to the supply list; if you have deli paper sheets or parchement paper bring a least 2-4 sheets 8x8 or so. This is used to smooth the PC after the replacement technique.
Ok, I think that about wraps it up. See ya on Saturday.
