June 2012 QCC Meeting

Hi Y'all,
This Saturday coming up is the 4th one and already time for our QCC meeting.  We have some great meeting plans for the next few meetings.  We are going to start working on canes including a name cane (right Cheryl?)  to go on our Jon Anderson inspired animals.  So this month we will start with planning our animal and making canes.  July we will probably make more canes and maybe our base animal scuplture.  Hopefully by August we can finish our pieces.  Hope to see you all there.
12:00 at the usual place.

Meeting was called to order. Discussion on what the agenda for the day would be. Julie Eakes gave us a demo on a name cane. We all successfully created a cane and reduced it to a usable size.
Some members had time to plan or work on the base of aluminum foil that would go into the animals that we plan to create. Some individuals knew what their animal would be so could move forward; others haven't decided on the animal yet, so were thinking more of the canes that the animal might be covered with. Maggie did a quick demo of a butterfly cane, although not all were paying attention and she has promised to show this technique again.
We had a new visitor; Lynne Costner O'Brien spent the day with us. Welcome to her and we all enjoyed her time spent with us and hope she will return for the next meeting.
Because there are some individuals that will not be able to join us for the July meeting it is planned to continue working on canes or the base of our planned animals at the next meeting. Next meeting is planned for July 28, 2012.

Attendees: Cheryl, Maggie, Julie, Mary Jo, Pattie, Angie, Lynne and Nancy.
